Devils' Defense Gets Eight Sacks in Win Over The Buffaloes

TEMPE, AZ (October 10, 2015)  The Arizona State University Sun Devils’ defense produced eight sacks, twelve tackle for losses, a blocked punt, and an interception in the 48-23 win over Pac-12 rival Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday, October 10 at Sun Devils Stadium.

The Devils tight-end Kody Kohl scored the first two touchdowns of the game in the first quarter. The first touchdown came when he picked up a fumble and ran it in from 28 yards out. His second touchdown, a 16 yard reception, was the first of five touchdown passes thrown by senior quarterback Mike Bercovici.

Zane Gonzales, a junior from Deer Park, Texas, became the 5th highest scorer in Devil history adding six extra points and two field goals to his career total of 300 points.

For the second time in his career as the Devils’ quarterback, Bercovici threw five touchdown passes. He now has over 3,000 total yards passing.

The Buffaloes (3-3, 0-2 Pac-12) host the Arizona Wildcats in Boulder, CO on Saturday, October 17 at 7:05 p.m. The game will be televised on FS-1. 

The Devils (4-2, 2-1 Pac-12) travel to Salt Lake City on Saturday, October 17 to face the current PAC-12 South leader, Utah Utes. Game time is 7:00 p.m. AZ time and it will be televised on ESPN.
